I’M a peddler by choice – a proud profession. I was born hungry for success. Studies have been done on what it takes to be successful; and there’s only one word for success – persistence.
That’s my motivation – I’m persistent in everything I do in life. The gift I think I received is the burning desire of self-improvement. That desire gets me out of bed every morning with the motivation and the need to succeed. I measure success in many ways. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Nothing is accomplished without enthusiasm. Leave the world a better place than you found it – that is success.” I know there are people living better because of my energy and dedication to providing clean water to as many people as possible.
I started Home Water Systems, which I’ve owned and operated since 1984. It’s a direct sales water conditioning business. I realized I had to get into the water business after reading a book called the “The Choice is Clear by Dr. Allen E. Banik.” The book discusses the effects of water on our health and the kinds of health problems related to different types of water. Over the years, I’ve given out thousands of copies of the book to people – for promotion- education and friendship.
I chose to get into the water business because I believe the biggest secret on this planet is clean water. It takes perseverance to educate people and sell them a product that’s for their benefit. I meet my responsibilities it is that attitude I bring to my customers through my business. We care, and we are accountable. We give our customers an opportunity for our free, no obligation water conditioning trial. After 30 days of trying our product, you will want it. I finance everybody on a handshake and don’t charge interest. I sell – rent – rent-to own – whatever it takes to put the deal together. We give more value than the customer, requests.
Home Water Systems has the exclusive rights to market the very best water equipment as certified by the independent Water Quality Association.
By putting one foot in front of the other, I don’t stop. I’m a door-to-door salesman by choice. As a result, I don’t know when times are good or when times are bad – if I get to a house where times are bad, I go to the next house and the next until I come to a house where times are good and they can afford my product. Attitude is everything; I bring an attitude of persistence and honesty to my work – that is the ‘SECRET’ of my success. I’ve taught countless people how to sell and I’m rewarded when they often phone to tell me of their sales accomplishments.
I love building – building up people, building up business, building with my hands. I rebuild and refinish antique furniture. I’m a Shriner and a Ventriloquist. I often go to hospitals and entertain seriously ill kids. You have to dig deep to build up their spirits and keep your own spirits high. Life is about building and creating. With Home Water Systems, I aspire to build a world where people have access to clean water and consequently live healthier lives.
